MAISON MARGIELA
Yesterday I looked through my featured files and returned again and again to John Galiano (how could I not?) and therefore to Margiela.
And it was at the new Maison Margiela headquarters where the Co-Ed 2023 collection was exhibited, the second part of the love story that began last season with Cinema Inferno.
Reinvention of the iconic shoes of the firm, caftan, fishnets, lots of tulle, semi-hidden faces without exception, rubbish bags for hats, chains and Mickey Mouse.
Spectacle and theatricality to present an interesting collection with Galiano in its soul. His imagination has no limits and the way to communicate it again captures me. Is punk honored? It’s reinvented with Galiano’s essence, so it becomes something different with a unique aesthetic, which knows how to drink from different worlds, to create its own and recognizable one.
He’s unique. Definitely unique. And if he’s not there, we miss him because the world of fashion is not the same without John Galliano.
